[Tolgus - Absolution]

Hmmmm, actually not so bad, more like good:)

Hi, Tolgus! I'm very glad you decided to submit on NG. I can promise you that it's worth it! :) Since this is your first submition, I will give you a very criticising review. Well, only so it would help you getting better. Btw. I hear that you have a great potensial to get very good! :D

First thing i would criticise is that the tune is kind of boring in the length, though some of the synths helps the tune.

The climax arrives to fast. It's like a snowball: suddenly it's not here and suddenly it is. You should try to make a longer and more exciting build up. 2nd time the climax is it just stops out of nowhere including the song. make an outro to the song. Try also to use a crash or something on the climax.

The bassdrum is way to low and unpowerfull. Also use a banging bass on the cilmax(between the bassdrum).

A big suggestion: Turn the tempo down to at least 140 bmp.

The song isn't so bad and if you fix on some of the sings i just wrote, it could get much better.

This is very good, and very impressive! :D

The bass was a little to 3xosc... to much synth-sounding, try to get a more passive, powerfull bass, it would help allot to the song.
The main synth that comes in 2:17 is Ok, but it's to much 8 bit sounding.

Very nice equalising, and I loved the intro! :D The song has a very nice flow.

A big tip is to make the song much longer, with a longer intro and a bit longer anti-climax and climax. If you make the climax-buildup longer it would be more interesting. Example: after you build the main melody down, build it up again before you go full climax.

Turn the kick a little bit higher. Awesome sounding synth's on 1:50-2:15, very relaxing, though they still have that pumping going on! :D

Hope you don't find my review to criticising.

Work more with the song and it would sound more awesome than it already does! :D

Great song... though there is something...

This is actually very good! There is some few things that I can complain about:
The bass should be a bit more powerful and much more clear, ofc. it's not a bad bass you've found, just giving a very constructive(and citicising) tip.
I personally think the melody is a little boring and not so exiting, but that meaning is
up to each person... The equalising is very good, and the main beat is awsome.
The song contains a very nice and beautiful flow, which is very impressive.
Great main synth:)
Over all I think the track is, as I said, very good! :D

I will give you a criticising review, because I know you'll make it big!!!

First I want to say that this is one of the best of the NG trance song's. It's classic and very powerful!
If you cut the melody into 16 pieces... Now the 8th and the 16th piece is a little bit wrong for the whole tune, it sounded like you just added a tune to finnish the main tune..., hope you understand what I am trying to say.
00:14 was a bit to much changing. If you'd had a intro with the kick and bass and so on build up to full beat without main pad and piano after 00:14, it would be more interesting and people would be more interested in hearing more. It would also sound more professional and even better.
1:18-1:50 was a bit destroying... It was boring. Though 1:50-2:18 was heavenly!
Great work else.

I don't have so much to complain about, which shows that this song is absolutely on it's way to a perfect trance song!
It sounds very professional.
You really got the talent! :)

Thank you very much for the detailed and constructive comment! To be honest I'm not really getting what you want to tell me about the melody thing... but I'll dig it and check it out more deeper.

About the beginning - I think you are right with that. Next time I'll keep that in mind. In case of trance music my biggest problems are build ups and secondary tracks that make the connection between the main tunes.

And that's the problem you mention between 1:18 - 1:50. I wanted to make a small build up to make the "ground" for the soft tune but it looks like I had to make a different approach next time.

I'm glad that you liked the whole track and I guess you liked the second half of the track (after the slower part) and you think it sounds professional!

Hmm...Interesting

This is quit good! Great piano btw:) Its a bit short for a trance song, but who cares about that, right:P When I listen to the song, feel like it miss a less pumping "slow down/relaxing point" except the end and beginning ofc. But since the song is so short, it doesn't make so importent. Still, Great song!:D

I only use Reason and the basic soundpacks that come with it. I'm a "work with what I've got" kinda guy. I don't buy anything new until I've completely exhausted what I've already got and know absolutely everything about it. :d

Having said that, I'll soon be looking to purchase Propellerhead's latest software, Record, which will finally allow me to start using live audio in my songs. Can't wait to start using vocals and ambient effects in my pieces. :)

Not only that but Record has all these mastering features right on board so right off the bat my quality's going to take a huge leap up as well. :d If I wasn't busy this weekend I'd be out buying it right now, tbh! >_< hehe.
